The Washington Experience!

Recently, I decided to visit one of the most interesting places in U.S., Washington D.C. The moment I got off the airplane, the environment was completely different to the Miami one. The transportation system is ah-mazing! You actually do not need a car, and that was satisfying to me. My stay was for about 3 days and a half, so I forced myself to visit as many places as I could.

One of the places that really moved me was the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, it teaches how Jewish people were persecuted by the Nazi regime under Adolf Hitler. Another museum I delightfully enjoyed was the National Air & Space Museum, which the guide explained how Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first men to step on the moon in the Apollo 11 spaceflight. The National Zoo was also a lovely experience, I observed how peaceful and relaxed the creatures were.IMG-20160322-WA0006

I also had the opportunity to go to Chinatown (a neighborhood composed of ethnic Chinese restaurants) and the night scene there was vivacious and fast- paced. An Irish Pub was situated closed by and the fact that it was packed made it captivating to stop by for some beer. I also went to a restaurant named ‘Chinatown Express; and tried some dumplings and noodles which were delicious. On the other side, a tranquil night scene, that was quite engaging was visiting “The White House”. I conversed with a Secret Service agent, and he shared how it is to work for the President and the people around him. On another post, I will talk more about one of the restaurants I really loved and savored.

Overall, I can only say that ‘ The Washington Experience’ was extraordinary. I learned so many things that if I would have not visited D.C., I would not have the same perspective as I have now. The culture is very diverse (especially when you live in Miami), but it is an admirable, clean and very well- organized city. I even considered moving in eventually! There so much history behind it. I would totally recommend it as a travel destination; however, it would be even more enjoyable to stay in for a longer period of time. I want to visit it again to absorb the missing pieces and sooner or later I will hopefully!
